This website is part of the
Waterways Ireland Education Programme which is about bringing the inland waterways
into the learning environment.
The programme aims to encourage teachers, school children and parents to develop an appreciation
for their local inland waterway, be that a canal, river or lake, as a place of
learning, a place for recreation and a place to reflect on the past.
The resources
we develop and programmes or workshops we deliver feed into the curriculum and
compliment what schools are doing within the classroom.
